Oplos Privacy Policy

Please read this privacy policy carefully. It applies to all interactions you have with Oplos web services and apps.

What information Oplos collects?

Account: While creating account you provide email, picture and password. You may also choose to provide information about your studying background, employment, interests, bio and links to social profiles.
Use of Oplos: We receive information from a third party provider (Google Analytics), please check their privacy policy. Also we collect information such as date and time of each request you make on Oplos, in order to run the website bug-free and real time.
Invitations: We store the emails you use to invite people to your debates in order to identify them later and provide access to the debate.

Why we need your information?

All this data is needed to keep Oplos operating and continuously improve the platform. We’re using it to customize your experience and provide needed support.

Information disclosure:

With third party tools: At this stage we only use google analytics as a tool gathering the website data.
If is needed by law: We may provide information in order to prevent and criminal activities. Most of the cases you’ll be notified about that.Other users: Your public information such as picture, education, employment and bio is being shared with other users.

Web tracking:

Cookies: These are used in order to remember your login data, such as access from specific browser and so on. Most of the browsers have an option to turn off all cookies collections.
Local storage: This operates the same way as cookies, but the information is stored on your device.
Email: We may include some tags and links in order to track the delivery and operational process.

Data security:

We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to create a secure tunnel to protect data in transit between your device and Oplos servers.No transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we can’t absolutely guarantee that unauthorized parties won’t be able to defeat our security measures. You use Oplos at your own risk, and are responsible for taking reasonable measures to secure your account (such as choosing a strong, unique password and keeping it secret).
